My story begins 20th June 1980 at Hitchin Maternity Hospital. The next day being sent to a London hospital with a heart problem, that was diagnosed as Transposition of the Great Arteries. At 6 months old they could do no more for me. This is when my luck began. Magdi Yacoub at Harefield took me on for a switch operation that was still in the early stages.
I am now 44 and going strong. I'm disabled after a stroke when I was 6 months old but I keep myself fit by going to Leaner Life gym and boxing training at Stevenage boxing club and gym.
I owe my life to Sir Magdi Yacoub and Harefield Hospital and would like to raise a lot of money for them to carry on saving lives.
