We want to acquire a DEXA scanner for Harefield Hospital, to improve the ongoing care of patients

Some Harefield patients, such as respiratory patients, patients who have received a transplant or who undergo pre and post transplant assessments, need to take long term steroids, which can lead to a loss of bone density and an increased risk of osteoporosis.

To make sure their bones are healthy, these patients need bone density scans as part of ongoing monitoring. To improve this essential part of their care, we want to provide Harefield Hospital with a brand new DEXA scanner.

What difference will a DEXA scanner make?

Access to a DEXA scanner will have a significant implication to patient care and will be a positive experience for patients as it will be much more comfortable, patients can wear their own clothes and clinical staff will stay in the room with them whilst they are scanned. The biggest benefit will be the reduced radiation dose that the patient receives and it will also help reduce waiting lists.

Can you help us reach our goal?

It is important that we raise these funds for the DEXA scanner, to support the ongoing care of patients at Harefield. Please donate or fundraise via the link below. Your donation, no matter the size, will make a difference.

Together, we can provide our patients with the comfort, care, and efficiency they deserve. Thank you
